LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION-1

At present the student is at: Univ of Florida;
He applied from ECE to CSE

I take great pleasure in recommending Mr. XXXXXXXXX for admission into your esteemed institution. I have known the applicant from the past four years and I have been his instructor for Digital IC Applications and VLSI Design and found him to be a sincere, self-reliant and diligent young man with a pleasing demeanor.

Mr. XXXXXXXXXXX has good subjective knowledge, which is quite evident from his performance index consistently being among the top 3% of his class. Under my guidance he has done a project “LINE FOLLOWER ROBOT” using Atmel 89c51 microcontroller. He is endowed with a sharp intellect and industrious ability. He has an enormous capacity for conceptual thinking and reasoning. During my interaction with him, I had observed him showing great insight in the subject matters. He has good communication skills and expresses his ideas lucidly and impressively. His seminars on various fields of interest were noteworthy.

He has a great thirst for knowledge. He has an ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge and relate it to the previously acquired knowledge. He has leadership qualities and was an active member of our student counsel. He is also actively involved in cultural, literary and sporting events of our college. He is quite capable of undertaking research projects and I am sure that he can perform at his best as a member of a team.

Judging from the above aspects, I can confidently state that Mr. XXXXXXXXX possesses the required zeal to prepare and has sufficient motivation, commitment and intellectual ability to meet the demands of the graduate program. Hence I strongly recommend his admission into your esteemed University with all the financial aid that he rightly deserves.

I wish him success in all his future endeavors.

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION-2

* Recommendation to a Low profile student to bolster his case; Ho got admission in a state University

As the Head of the Department of Computer Science Engineering, I had watched Mr. XXXXXXXX at close quarters and have made solid observations. Many of these are my personal observations while some of them are that of my peers’. I suppose that these observations would help you to get a clearer picture about him.

My statements about his academic and research bent in the following above lines would become hyperbole if 1 don't mention about his poor percentage of marks in his undergraduate studies. As he is intrinsically practical minded and our education system here is more of a theoretical approach , his natural inquisitiveness could not be satisfied and hence he could not perform to the optimum level and ended scoring about 55 % only during his under graduation. In a right academic atmosphere where a proper blend of theory and practical approaches, he would be able to excel in his academic and research tasks. You have my assurance that Mr. XXXXXXXXX would be best suited for education into the postgraduate program of your university, and would pursue with interest and motivation.

XXXXXX - a two day National Level Technical Symposium was his brain child. It attracted over 500 students from all over the country. He acted as the interface between the college and the industries and organized eminent technocrats to address the audience. Both the choice of individuals and the choice of topics were very pertinent and revealed his understanding of what the technical community of the world in general and the country in particular needs tomorrow.

Mr. XXXXXXX has heartily represented our college in many technical paper presentation contests. He had also brought honors to our college by winning prizes in many of them. He was the vanguard organizing various technical events under the auspices of the Association of Computer Engineers. Some of his bold and inventive initiatives won him accolades from the teaching community and the management. Mr. XXXXXXXX organized major workshops for our IEEE students’ chapter and within months of his assuming office in IEEE Students’ Chapter of our college, he organized as many as half-a-dozen technical events for our chapter. This brought to the surface his ability to assume leadership position and capacity to motivate. His English fluency is evident from the fact that his command over the language is excellent. His technical writing skills are well pronounced.

Mr. XXXXXXXX works very hard to scale greater heights. This tenacity in working hard really makes him conspicuous. At times his individuality supersedes that of others. I think he holds great promise as a student and enrolling him with full or partial financial aid in your department is undoubtedly a prudent decision.

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION-3

At present the student is at: Univ of Maryland, Baltimore County; with average acads

It is my pleasure to recommend Mr. XXXXXXX for admission to graduate program at your esteemed university. I had known him for two of his academic years when I taught him Computer Networks, Neural Networks and supervised his project work in Telemedicine and seminar. During this interaction, I had an opportunity to observe his performance closely.

During my interaction with Mr. XXXXXXXX, I found him understanding of fundamental principles in his subject and skills in experimental work were impressive. He has very good interest in collecting and comprehending recent literature in the relevant fields and towards the field of Computer Science, specifically Computer Networks. He is a very good learner and has the ability to grasp new concepts quickly. He is a strongly motivated individual and possesses the intellectual ability to achieve his targets

Mr. XXXXXXXX is a very amiable person and has excellent communication skills. I found him to be proficient in English being able to convey his ideas lucidly and with great ease. His courteous and lively nature makes it a pleasure to interact with him. He has always impressed me with his creativity and originality of thoughts.

In all I would conclude that he belongs to the group of top 5% students. Based on his strong undergraduate preparation and his motivation for research work, I strongly recommend him for admission in graduate program at your esteemed university with full financial support.

Further, please do not hesitate to contact me for any type of queries regarding his admission.

RECOMMENDATION LETTER-4

I have known Mr. XXXXXXX, for the past three and a half years. I have taught him a course on XXXXXXXXXX and part of a course on XXXXXXXXXXX. I have also had a chance to observe him in the XXXXXXXXX laboratory, which I conducted.

He is a very capable and dedicated student, with a genuine interest and depth of knowledge in the area. He did reasonably well in both my courses. He is not only well versed in the theoretical aspect of his subject, but also has extensive knowledge about different mathematical and software tools such as XXXXXXXXXXXXX, and XXXXXXXX, in spite of them not being a part of the college curriculum.

He was active in class and always asked insightful questions, which promoted further discussion into the subject. In the lab, I noticed that he took extra pains to understand the principle behind the process, and not just the mechanics of it. It was evident that he tries to innovate and think differently both in the class and lab, because he always thought of a different approach to the solution.

An important aspect of graduate life is the ability to understand and think about other related research work. His ability to do this was evident in the paper presentations that he made. I was particularly impressed with the presentation on genetic algorithms where he delved into both pros and cons of the work, and brought to focus the applicability and limitations of the paper.

He was very enthusiastic in looking for a good research project for the undergraduate project. He approached me many times to discuss project ideas that he thought was interesting, and possible approaches to the problem.

I am sure he will do extremely well in graduate study and in my opinion he will prove to be good research assistant. I recommend him without hesitation for graduate study with maximum financial aid.

I have taught him XXXXXXXXXXXXX and XXXXXXXXXXXXXX .His performance in both the subjects has been good. The standout feature with Mr.XXXXXXXXX is his diligent nature and perseverance. Mainly XXXXXXXXX being one of his interests, he used to come up with innovative ideas. Although all his ideas were not a stand out, failure was never a set back to him. On the contrary it spurred him and gave him that extra zeal to work harder in the subject. I strongly feel that Mr.XXXXXXX 's never say quit attitude and his astute perceptive abilities make him better than the most to carry out research in the field of XXXXXXX.

In addition to classroom interaction, he has approached me several times to clear his doubts which showcase an eagerness to assimilate knowledge that is extremely gratifying. Through these discussions I have noted that he possesses an immensely strong analytical sense and a thought process that is very much research oriented.

The tenacity with which he pursues his academic goals makes him an ideal candidate for graduate studies. He can easily work independently as well as in a group. I am confident that his originality and intellectual creativity will ensure his success as a researcher. . His industriousness and focus together with his positive attitude and pleasant personality have impressed me.
