@ varun...6th question is based on the principle of percentage points....
all u need to do is to find out the % grwth between yrs 1970-1980 and 1970 to 1985..then apply formula of percentage points to that which gives u d answer i e 4 Smile

Hello,

pravita:

for the 8th one, yes we should take 25, 23...
that makes it 25+(1000-1)(-2)

for the 5th one:slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
Now the max value of y2-y1=5-0=5
and least value for x2-x1-2-0=2

that makes it 2.5
So the slope of pq would always be less than 2.5

varun kumar:

for the 7th one, Q eats 1/3 of the remaining part i.e left by P =3/4 of whole

So 1/3*3/4=1/4

So total P+Q=1/4+1/4=1/2

Best of luck u guys

Guyz, I think the last line of question 3"If the combined mean of both the sets ‘R’ and ‘T’ are ‘a’ and ‘b’, then......" is problematic. For a combined series how there can be two means? One of them should be median.
Considering this, can anyone explain how you get the answer as B?
Thanks

hi pravita,
To my view, the answer should be D.
Becasue, two set of numbers are given. One or even two of the sets can be composed of all negative numbers or one set negative, one positive numbers. So, for the combined set to my view it is not possible to have a guess whether median or average is greater with the amount of data given.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

i don't think 5th question has a answer.. it would be D..

as i can take any point..
for example.. p(4.1,4.5) and q(1.2,1.5).. so u will get one slope.. similarly i will take other two points p(x,y) q(w,r).. which will give another slope.. so i think it must be D.. what do u say guys.. ??

Explain..
